A Paradise man with a long history of sexually assaulting young women and girls will remain behind bars at least for the foreseeable future.
60-year-old Dennis Peter Murphy was denied bail late last week following a hearing in provincial court.
Murphy has been in custody since September 25 when it’s alleged he attacked a young woman in Paradise. He’s charged with assault causing bodily harm as well as a section of the Criminal Code which involves “rendering a person unable to defend themselves against an attack.”
Murphy has previously been convicted of supplying young girls with booze and drugs before forcing them to have sex.
He moved to the Paradise area last summer after completing a long federal sentence for sex offences.
That prompted the RNC to issue a public warning that Murphy was a high risk to strike again.
