Condolences are pouring in from fire departments across the province as the Trinity and Area Volunteer Fire Department copes with the loss of one of its own.
The volunteer firefighter passed away after an accident that occurred while responding to a call near Trinity Wednesday afternoon.
The firefighter was driving a fire truck when the vehicle rounded a curve in the Trinity Bight area, left the road and went down over an embankment.
The firefighter, who was the lone occupant of the truck, was thrown from the vehicle. He was taken to hospital in Clarenville where he passed away.
The incident is under investigation.
We are thinking of everyone in the Trinity Area and all those in the first responder community as they deal with the tragic loss of a volunteer firefighter. Please see my statement below ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/OG0LRjC9RP
