Races are underway at the Royal St. John’s Regatta.
With temperatures in the high 20s and no wind to speak of, it’s a perfect day on the pond for rowers in the 204th Platinum Jubilee installment of the event.
Races kick off with two senior women’s races followed by two senior men’s races.
The exhibition race which will see women row the long course for the first time is set for 10:50 a.m.
The championship races begin with the senior women’s race at 6:30 p.m., followed by the senior men’s race at 7 p.m.
Hyflodraulic is the defending senior women’s championship, while NTV will try to keep the men’s trophy. Each is the number one seed today based on the July time trials.
Captain of the course and vice president, Ashley Peach, is reminding all those who will be lakeside to be mindful of the hot weather and to come prepared.
