A young man accused of selling toxic drugs that killed a St. John’s teenager has decided to stay in jail for now.
Nineteen-year-old Zack Mulrooney was charged in May with manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death in the overdose of 14-year-old Axel Martin.
He bought what he thought were Dilaudid pills that turned out to be a fatal mix of synthetic opioids.
Mulrooney was also charged with drug possession and trafficking before being released on conditions.
But he was arrested again this week, accused of the same type of deceptive drug dealing.
Mulrooney appeared in court late yesterday afternoon, where he waived his right to a bail hearing, consenting to remain in custody at least until his next court date on December 18th.
