A 32-year-old woman from Nain is facing charges after a resident of the community had to be treated for serious injuries.

RCMP say Adeline Benuen was arrested after they were called to a home on Middle Path on Wednesday evening.

The victim was taken to the local community clinic with injuries which were serious, but not life-threatening.

The accused was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and breach of probation.

She was held in custody pending a court appearance.
