YWCA St. John’s has extended the deadline for nominations for its Circle of Distinction Awards.
The awards are handed out every year to highlight the achievements of women and gender-diverse people.
This year’s deadline for applications has been extended to July 20.
Maria Gentle, the executive director of YWCA St. John’s, says the awards are meant to highlight people who may be overlooked.
She says they want to recognize those who are making a difference in communities throughout the province.
Eight awards will be handed out in five different categories during a ceremony set for MUN’s Signal Hill Campus in September.
