A fundraiser hockey game is taking place tonight to honour a 19-year-old player who died in a moose-vehicle collision over the summer.
Stacey-Lynn Kenny and her father, Corey, were killed in June when their motorcycle struck a moose near Aquaforte.
The Women’s Junior A Hockey League is hosting tonight’s fundraiser in memory of Stacey-Lynn, who spent two years in the league.
During the game, officials plan to unveil the league’s championship trophy, which has been renamed in her honour.

League President Donny Gosse says the family requested that proceeds from the game go to The Gathering Place, noting it is exactly what Stacey-Lynn would have wanted.
“It’s gonna be a heavy night Thursday, and the hockey community always comes together in these situations. But that’s what kind of makes it somewhat easier,” he told The Tim Powers Show.
“We had all the proceeds going to the Kenny family, and (her mom) wanted the proceeds of the game going to The Gathering Place. So that just sticks to the theme of what we’re doing.”
