West coast RCMP seized a quantity of drugs and a weapon following a traffic stop in Burgeo over the weekend.

At 12:30 Sunday afternoon police noticed a vehicle driving erratically along route 480. The driver, a 23-year-old man, passed a sobriety test, but police did find two open cases of beer in the back seat.

As well, police seized 20 grams of mushrooms, a pellet gun, and other items.

The man was arrested a charged for drug possession, having open liquor in a vehicle, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He will appear in court at a later date.
