We now have an update on the Flanders vessel which has been on drydock for a little over a month.
The Department of Transportation says repairs are still ongoing but the dockyard anticipates that the vessel will begin sea trials this week. The Flanders will return to the Bell Island route once those trial are complete.
Contrary to rumours, there is nothing preventing the ferry from being launched back into the water.
The Grace Sparkes, also set to begin sea trials soon, should be back on the St. Brendan’s route in early September.
