The St. John’s Regional Fire Department was quick to bring a shed fire in the west end under control today. The blaze broke out over the lunch hour, sending thick, black smoke into the air.
The fire was contained to a shed on Empire Avenue West and winds were light at the time.
A bystander says a generator shed caught on fire after one of the units stored there malfunctioned while running. SJRFD fast response and it appears to be under control.
