A boy battling a rare genetic condition will have the chance to meet and thank the numerous blood donors who have stepped up to save his life.
In 2017, Kade Blakely of Marystown was diagnosed with 22q Deletion Syndrome—a condition that impacts the body’s ability to produce working antibodies.
Thanks to blood donors, Blakely has been able to fight the condition.
In honour of his 300th infusion, Blakely and his family will be meeting with donors as a thank you.
The event is taking place on Wednesday, May 31 at the Marystown Hotel from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Eligible donors are encouraged to roll up their sleeves at a number of blood drives planned for the region.
