Weather patterns in the metro region appear to have done a complete 180°.
After what was a rainy and cold spring, the weather turned, giving way to warm temperatures and sunny skies.
Weather enthusiast Kelly Butt says St. John’s Airport didn’t record a 20 degree day until June 20th, the second latest on record. Since then, the capital city has recorded 30 days of temperatures above 20 degrees.
As well, he says 16 of those days have been above 25 degrees.
In fact, Butt states that as of yesterday St. John’s had recorded 11 consecutive days above 25 degrees.
St. John's #YYT didn't reach 20°C until June 21 (20.5°), the 2nd latest on record.
Since then (incl June 21), YYT has recorded 30 days of 20° or higher (incl today).
16 of those days have been 25° or higher.
