A 46-year-old man has been charged with impaired after he was caught driving the wrong way down a one-way street in St. John’s.
The incident happened on Balsam Street downtown.
According to the RNC, they tried to pull the man over but he continued along Livingstone Street before abandoning the vehicle at the Carter’s Hill intersection.
He fled on foot but was arrested without incident a short time later.
The driver is now facing numerous charges including impaired, driving while prohibited, flight from police, and obstruction of justice.
He was held for court.
