A popular Mount Pearl resident was out trick or treating early today…but at least he was dressed for the cold weather.

Covie the alpaca was making the rounds in Mount Pearl today, decked out in a jaunty yellow polka dot vest and hat.

Covie is regularly seen being led around the streets of Mount Pearl by owner Dena Eales.

Alpacas are members of the llama family and are a popular addition to farms because they’re good at protecting smaller animals from coyotes and other predators.

They’re also raised for their thick, luxurious, and warm fleece.
