RNC had to haul out the spike belt in order to nab a driver who had too much to drink.

Officers on patrol in CBS around 1:00 this morning flashed the lights on a car that refused to stop.

RNC followed the vehicle and made use of the spike belt, which eventually forced the car to come to a halt.

The 48-year-old man behind the wheel was charged with impaired, refusal, flight from police, dangerous operation and driving while prohibited.

Meanwhile, the passenger, a 34-year-old man, was also taken into custody on an outstanding parole warrant.

Both spent the night in the lockup.
