A man has been charged with drunk driving after a truck crashed into a utility pole on the Conception Bay Highway, resulting in downed power lines.
It happened just after midnight Wednesday as Holyrood RCMP were alerted by a concerned citizen. The 9-1-1 caller reported that the driver had gotten out of the vehicle, then ran to a nearby residence.
Police say the driver, who was 22, blew 1.5 times the legal limit.
The truck was impounded and the driver will appear in court in February.
