FORCE NL, a coalition of young professionals and students says it’s “deeply concerned” with the composition and mandate of Premier Tony Wakeham’s independent review committee.

Chair Ben Oates says they’re wondering what the ultimate aim of the committee will be.

“We are questioning whether or not this is truly independent and whether the oversight committee is designed to actually thoroughly vet the deal and instill confidence, and give Newfoundlanders and Labradorians the reassurance that they as an electorate decided they needed, or is it designed to delay and kill the deal eventually?”

He warns letting a “generational opportunity slip” would be an “unforgiveable mistake.”
