A 46-year-old man from Natuashish has been charged with assaulting a police officer following a disturbance at a restaurant in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
RCMP were called to the fast food outlet on Loring Drive around 4:00 last Friday afternoon after reports of a man causing a disturbance.
Patrons and staff of the business directed the responding officer to a man seated inside the restaurant with an empty can of beer.
The officer asked the man to leave and while he was being escorted out, the man allegedly assaulted the officer.
The accused was held in custody to appear in court. He’s since been released to appear on December 18th.
There were no injuries.
