A 21-year-old woman is facing charges in connection with the theft of a vehicle from Port Saunders, and a suspicious fire in Rocky Harbour.

RCMP in Port Saunders were called around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday about a vehicle stolen from a home on Central Avenue in the town. Patrols were conducted to locate the person identified as the suspect.

The following morning RCMP were called to a report of a fire involving a shed near a gas station on Westlink Road in Rocky Harbour.

RCMP arrested a 21-year-old woman from Eddie’s Cove West and charged her with vehicle theft and mischief.

The stolen vehicle was recovered by Deer lake RCMP near Bonne Bay Pond on Sunday.
