Some people’s power bills are a lot higher this winter than last, so a reduction in the tax on those bills would have gone a long way, says the leader of the Liberal Party.
One of John Hogan’s main promises was to cut the provincial tax on light bills by ten per cent, but the electorate chose the PCs to form government. The opposition leader had still hoped to see Premier Wakeham match their promise.
The house opens Monday for the spring sitting.
“I’m disappointed that the PCs did not open the House of Assembly in the fall and give Newfoundlanders and Labradorians the tax break they deserve,” says Hogan.
