Familiar faces took to the brand new winner’s circle at Quidi Vidi for the 201st Royal St. John’s Regatta.
The Fine Strokes Plaster and Painting Outer Cove Crew claimed their fourth men’s championship title in a row, while the Hyflodraulics Limited crew won top position in the women’s championships.
Outer Cove had a strong 17-second lead versus second place, reaching the finish line with a time of 9:04.71, compared to their qualifying time of 9:07.01. Belfor claimed second place with a time of 9:21.65.

Meanwhile, it wasn’t smooth sailing in the Hyflodraulics’ victory. The crew broke an oar in the final stretches of the race, but still held strong to take their victory.
They reached the finish line with a time of 5:02.23, shaving two seconds off their qualifying time of 5:04.04. The Cahill Group came in second with a time of 5:06.24.
Champagne has been popped and celebrations begin.
